• Reeds - Bill Parrish Medium Oboe Reed or HB Artiste Reedsand/or Bill Parrish Medium English Horn Reed (Choose from these reeds and always have at least three working reeds.)
• Cane - Le Roseau Chantant Shaped Oboe Cane, MH 10.25-10.5mm diameter, rdg-1 shape or Student Shaped Cane (for learning to make reeds)
• Knife - Chiarugi Razor Knife (These are sharp but not sharpened to one side or the other so they can be used with RH or LH.)
• Sharpening Stone - India Combination Bench Stone and Honing Oil
• Plaques - Rigotti Flat Plaque - 1 Pointed and 1 Rounded and/or Rigotti Convex Steel Plaque
• Cutting Block - Pisoni or Jende
• Mandrel - Chiarugi 2 or Lorée
• Staples - Silver, 47mm Chiarugi #2 or Lorée Regular
• Thread - FF Nylon, any brand
• Ruler - Hodge Steel 6-inch/metric
• Beeswax - 1-ounce block
• Tuner/Metronome - Korg TM-60 Combo
