Instrument Maintenance

Maintenance Recommendations: Keep one of each of these items in your case or at home and use as needed. Schedule a yearly appointment with an oboe technician to keep your oboe in the highest working condition.

• Screwdriver - choose one
• Key Oil - choose one
• Instrument Dusting Brush - Dust your oboe daily
• Long Oboe Swab - DO NOT PULL THROUGH. Though this can pull through, I do not want you to take any chances. Use this in a back and forth motion and then pull back out the bell.
• Turkey Feather - Use this to move the moisture around to keep it out of the keys.
• Cork Grease - Use in moderation as needed. Choose one.
