The Reeds ‘n Stuff shaping machine ensures great accuracy especially at the tip of the reed, where the cutting method contributes to better sealing of the reeds. The caveat is that cutting the cane in this way results in a slightly rougher edge. Most customers who are needing to process large amounts of cane quickly are not bothered by this, or use fine sandpaper over the edge to clean it up a bit. This machine is geared toward large quantity reed makers or schools with lots of students using the same shape.

It is difficult to give an exact number of pieces that can be cut over the life of the machine. However, we have produced this machine for 15 years now and never had a request for re-grinding.
