ReadyReed Advanced Student Oboe Reed
Description
According the its maker, Luis Miguel Gutierrez, "this reed was designed to satisfy the needs of every student (from beginners to college level). It has a brass staple covered with synthetic cork, but do not let the brass fool you! There is nothing brassy about this reed. Instead, it has a nice warm sound combined with stability in pitch and good response."
These reeds consistently crow a C and play well in tune. They are a little easier than the ReadyReed1 pro reeds, though they still require support and embouchure to play well. In our experience, these are not for the beginning oboe student who has not yet learned how to hold the reed properly with their mouth.

About the Maker
Luis Miguel Gutierrez, originally from Venzuela, studied oboe performance at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music - CCM and Shenandoah University. His teachers include Stephan Key, Titus Underwood, and Dwight Parry. He currently teaches and freelances in the Washington D.C. area.
