ReadyReed 1 Oboe Reed

Description

ReedyReeds are made by Luis Miguel Gutierrez. They tend to crow a slightly low C and play well in tune with itself. Because these reeds are a little stiffer than the student reeds, they require a firmer embouchure which raises the pitch up to where it should be. These reeds have an edge to the tone that gives good projection if you have the embouchure to cover the edge and get focus.

About the Maker

Luis Miguel Gutierrez, originally from Venzuela, studied oboe performance at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music - CCM and Shenandoah University. His teachers include Stephan Key, Titus Underwood, and Dwight Parry. He currently teaches and freelances in the Washington D.C. area.
