The standard Chiarugi oboe mandrel is made of stainless steel and is hand finished in order to fit properly with each of the corresponding-sized staples. There is one available for each size. The handle is in polished African ebony wood.
The baroque model handle is made of African glossy ebony wood. It differs from the standard model in the baroque design of the handle and French design of the bottom of the mandrel. It also fits the staples slightly differently than the standard model in that the #2 staples aren't flush with the top of the mandrel, off about .25mm. The #2+ go past the top by about .25mm. This mandrel could be used for either one size. We do not carry this style mandrel for the #3 or #5.
