Wet/Dry Sandpaper (320, 400, and 600 grit)
Make subtle changes to your reeds with wet/dry sandpaper. This type of sandpaper works great wet or dry and works better and longer on wood than other types of abrasives. All grits recommended for bassoon reeds are at the fine level. 320 grit is labeled extra fine, 400 grit is labeled super fine, and 600 grit is labeled ultra fine. Each package contains five 9" x 11" sheets which can be cut easily to a size that works best for sanding bassoon reeds.
Wet/dry sandpaper in these three grit levels are recommended in George Sakakeeny's reed making ibook "Making Reeds Start to Finish".
