Position the mandrel for the desired reed length. Then place the reed on the mandrel and bring the guillotine down, cutting the tip of the reed to the desired length. Because the blade is circular, it will cut one blade of the cane slightly shorter than the other, making it easier to tongue clearly when placed in the mouth with the short side down. Available in red or gray.
