The Reeds 'n Stuff compact series of mandrels is exactly the same as their full size mandrels, but with a smaller handle.

This smaller handle is designed for musicians who travel a lot, have smaller hands, or are just looking for a smaller handle on their reed making tools. It offers space savings while still providing enough handle to have a solid grip on the tool.

Well Formed

The parabolic forming mandrel for contrabassoon reeds is newly designed to meet your reed making needs. Several crucial measurements were taken from a host of contrabassoon reeds in the most popular shapes to provide key thicknesses at the back of the reed as well as throughout the tube.

The tip of the mandrel is less than 2 mm wide - small enough to fit between the pieces of cane after folding and help open up the tube. Use one mandrel to form the tubes from start to finish.

Ergonomic

The ergonomic wooden handle of our reed making tools provides for ease of use and is made of oiled beechwood.
