Reeds 'n Stuff Bassoon Cane Guillotine

The Reeds 'n Stuff Bassoon Cane Guillotine is used to cut cane to length after it's been split into pieces. Though not long enough for most contrabassoon cane, the rod has an end stop that is easily adjustable with the included star wrench. Guidelines have been etched on the length bar to set the stop (set the edge along the line of your choice) at 120 mm or 118 mm, but there is room to set it to the length you choose within reason in both directions. The length of the arm operating the cutter is about 10 in, allowing for less force or pressure to be used to cut through the cane. The cane receiving end is capable of handling many extra thick pieces of cane. The cutting blade is circular, rather than an arrowhead shape like some other machines, allowing for two pieces of cane from an extra long piece to be cut and used. This reduces waste.
