This fits on the base of a Reed Machines gouging machine.
The guillotine cuts the cane to an adjustable length, it can be used on the gouger or on the guillotine base set. With the guillotine on the guillotine base set, cutting the cane and gouging the cane can be done at different places at the same moment. Especially reed makers like to do this because it is more efficient and it gives more flexibility. The guillotine has a handle to make the cutting process easy. The handle can be disassembled.
There is a guillotine for several cane diameter ranges. It is easy to change the cutting plate so, instead of buying another guillotine, it is an option to just buy another cutting plate. The cutting plate has 2 cutting edges. If the first cutting edge is worn out, you can turn the cutting plate 180° to use the second cutting edge.
The smallest possible cane diameter is 9,5mm and the biggest is 16,0mm. The actual cane diameter range is given by the "D" value.
