DIAMOND REED ROOM PACK - $449.10
Includes Wicked Edge Precision Sharpener (WEPS), Aluminum Base, 100/200, 400/600, and 800/1000 grit diamond stone paddle sets, and 5/3.5 micron diamond and leather strops paddle set. This is the same as the Pro-Pack I from Wicked Edge.
This is the most economical pack and uses diamond stones which are less expensive. This is a good system for a university reed room since diamond stones are very durable and don't need any extra care when using. Strops are more fragile and it is recommended that each individual student in a reed room purchase their own set. The 100/200 stones are good for regrinding a chipped knife or setting a new edge. The 400/600 stones are good for setting a new edge on a knife that is in good shape and the angles are the same. The 800/1000 stones are used to finish the edge. Strops can then be used to polish the edge to a fine finish.
Warning: Rigotti, Nielsen, Chiarugi, and MCW razor knives tend to chatter when using the diamond stones. It is best to move up to the ceramic and finer level stones to sharpen those kinds of knives.

CERAMIC STONE PACK - $461.70
Includes Wicked Edge Precision Sharpener (WEPS), Paperstone Base, 100/200 and 400/600 grid diamond stone paddle sets, 1200/1600 grit ceramic paddle set.
This pack sharpens at a higher level than the diamond pack. The final grit level is higher and the ceramic stones do well on the Rigotti, Nielsen, Chiarugi, and MCW razor knives which tend to chatter on the diamond stones. We recommend the Superaser for cleaning the ceramic stones. It is also important to have an angle cube to measure the angles of the ceramic stones. The ceramic and waterstones found in the waterstone packs are different thicknesses than the diamond stones. They also will change thickness over time from use so the angles need to be measured to make sure they are the same as each other. We sell the Accuremote Angle Gauge for this purpose.

SHAPTON WATER STONE PACK - $670.50
Includes Wicked Edge Precision Sharpener (WEPS), Paperstone Base, 100/200 grit diamond stone paddle set, 220/1500 grit Shapton waterstone paddle set, and 5000/8000 grit Shapton waterstone paddle set.
The Wicked Edge Precision Sharpener (WEPS) is at its finest with the superior Shapton Sharpening Stones. The 220 and 1500 grit Shapton stones are excellent for cleaning up some of the deeper scratches left by the 100/200 Diamond Plates and for progressing to the 5000 and 8000 Shapton WEPS Stones which will polish the knife to a very fine edge. If your knives are already relatively sharp, the diamond stone step can be eliminated altogether. The Shapton Water Stones are also the most ideal solution for knives that tend to chatter using the diamond stones such as the Rigotti, Nielsen, Chiaruggi, and MCW razor knives. Shapton waterstones don’t need to be soaked before using but do need to be sprayed with water during use. Also, waterstones wear so they need to be lapped occasionally and the angles need to be checked with an angle gauge each time you use them.
Grit combination recommendations for the Shapton Pack has been made by Tom Blodgett of Jende Industries.
