Sandi Stimson Oboe Reeds are of exceptional quality and have a warm tone, even scale, and need little to no adjusting prior to playing. Sandy's oboe reeds are handmade and begin with splitting tube cane, gouging on a Ross gouger, shaping using a Joshua +4 shape and tying on a 47mm real cork staple.
Sandy Stimson is Principal oboe of the Bozeman Symphony. In Breckenridge, Colorado she is the Principal oboe of the Breckenridge Music Festival Chamber Orchestra, a position she has held since 2004. She holds the English horn position with the Billings Symphony and can be heard performing with the Great Falls and Helena Symphonies.
Previous orchestral engagements include Principal oboe of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Orchestra, Principal oboe of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, second oboe/English horn with the Breckenridge Music Festival Chamber Orchestra, Principal Oboe of the Billings Symphony and Acting Associate Principal oboe of the Omaha Symphony.
