Bassoon Shaper Tips by Georg Rieger

The Rieger Bassoon Shaper Tips are used in combination with the Rieger Bassoon/Contrabassoon Shaper Handle. Made of hardened steel, the shaper tip has a protrusion end which is inserted into the shaper handle (which is then locked in tight by a flathead screw), and soaked cane that has been pre-gouged, gouged, and profiled is then folded over the tip, clamped to the completed shaper tool (tip plus handle), and shaped with a razor blade or similar blade to match the shape of the shaper tip.
