Jeffrey Reinhardt (REEDZY) Medium Oboe Reeds
A traditional American scrape oboe reed, designed for the most demanding of musical situations. Jeffrey reeds aim to provide a warm tone, cushioned response, and stable intonation, with a generous dynamic range.
I hand make my reeds using fine french cane, processed on traditional gouging machines and shapers, and scrape them gradually over many sessions to ensure stable results and the greatest possible reed longevity.
- Brass staples with synthetic cork fitting, 47mm
- Medium-narrow shaper, approximately halfway between a Mack+ and a Gilbert 1, offering a good balance of tone and flexibility
- Traditional Graf gouge, custom measurements for ideal response
- High quality, well aged cane from the Var, France
- Nylon thread
