Product Description
Angry Duck Bassoon Reeds
The Donati (black thread) professional reed is made from Donati tube cane and gouged on a Reeds 'n' Stuff gouger at 1.2mm +/- .1mm. It is profiled on a Popkin profiling machine and shaped with a Rieger 1A shape. The Rieger (blue thread) professional reed is made from Rieger tube cane and processed the same. All Angry Duck reeds are scraped over a period of 3-5 days to help prevent dramatic changes due to weather. Each reed is tested for response in the high and low registers, tone and intonation (A=440). Angry Duck reeds are very consistent. The Donati (black thread) cane reeds are in the medium to medium hard range for strength, while the Rieger (blue thread) cane reeds are medium hard to hard in strength. Reed dimensions are: tube-30mm, blade-28mm +/- 1mm. A 4th wire is used to keep the end of the tube round and adjustable. Both reed lines are recommended for players high school and up.
